[Eds Note: NIC was a re-incarnation, sort of, of NCI, who were reborn as Liberate, after merging with Navio, who had been part of Netscape, which of course was subsumed by AOL, prior to it's merger with Time Warner, although it looks like AOL may be sold off again.
